Liebherr-Aerospace Implements Inmedius Horizon™ for XML Content Management Pittsburgh, PA - May 7, 2008 --[ASDWire]-- Utilizing Inmedius Horizon™, an XML content management system, Inmedius is delivering a revolutionary new methodology to create, maintain and published ATA iSpec 2200 data. German-based Liebherr-Aerospace Lindenberg GmbH is the first Inmedius client to formally manage ATA (Air Transportation Association) data utilizing the system’s productivity tools. “Inmedius Horizon enables Liebherr to assign, manage and publish ATA data in a controlled, segmented way,” explained Michael Ingledew, Managing Director, Inmedius UK. “Authors are able to work on specific assigned page blocks, tasks or fragments within an Aircraft or Component Maintenance Manual, or Service Bulletin. This new methodology is a dramatic improvement for the comprehensive management of a technical documentation department.” ATA iSpec 2200 is a global aviation industry standard for the content, structure, and electronic exchange of aircraft engineering, maintenance, and flight operations information. It consists of a suite of data specifications pertaining to maintenance requirements and procedures, aircraft configuration control, and flight operations. Inmedius Horizon supports multiple industry documentation standards, including managing complex technical publications written to the ATA iSpec 2200 specification. Using Horizon, the publication manager can divide ATA documents into small, manageable chunks of information, while maintaining complete management and visibility over the document. Document control over each item in the system and customizable workflows ensure that all documents meet the appropriate review and approval cycles before publishing.
