SAE and TTA-Group Open Forum with Focus on Time-Triggered Systems and Reusable COTS Platforms |

SAE / TTA-Group Open Forum 2008 in Bellevue, WA, USA --[ASDWire]-- TTA-Group, a cross-industry consortium for highly dependable time-triggered systems, and SAE International are hosting an open forum on next generation networks in aerospace industry from November 13-14, 2008 in Bellevue, USA. This event is designed to enable an open discussion on low-cost time-triggered technologies and field buses, exploring their benefits for systems design. TTA-Group has designed this open forum to provide a platform for the exchange of know-how by industry experts and to discuss the benefits, power and maturity of key time-triggered technologies such as TTP®, FlexRayTM and TTEthernetTM. Topics covered are time-triggered architectures, reusable COTS platforms, model-based design paradigms for reduction of system complexity and lifecycle costs of advanced integrated systems. This event will provide attendees, such as program managers, system architects, system platform managers and software engineers, with latest information on programs, related products, IP and TTP standardization roadmaps. Sessions will kick off on November 13 with an overview of time-triggered networking for A&D Systems, requirements and benefits of time-triggered architecture in aircraft systems, addressing industry experiences and applications. Topics on the second day of the forum will include COTS components for designing reusable platforms, model-based design, comparison of time-triggered technologies and system-of-systems integration. The capability of Gigabit-Ethernet to support design of complex hard real-time systems using time-triggered extensions and services will be demonstrated. In a technical class, the approach of time-triggered architectures and their tooling and design philosophy will be outlined.
