''EXTREME CLEANING'' -- The Army's RESET Solution

ORLANDO, FL -- November 15, 2007 --[ASDWire]-- Kolene Corporation today reported that its "Extreme Cleaning" process is making dramatic inroads in improving the operational efficiency and cost reduction for manufacturers and remanufacturers in the automotive, aerospace and military industries.

In addressing the Department of Defense (DoD) Maintenance Symposium here on Kolene's re-entry into the military market, Kolene Chairman and CEO Roger L. Shoemaker said the company's two newest projects, a $2.7 million advanced cleaning process at the Army's Anniston Army Depot where the process will be used in the RESET of tank engines as well as a special immersion system for cleaning titanium helicopter blades at the Sikorsky Aircraft facility in Connecticut, are “on schedule and on budget!”

“In addition to surpassing all traditional benchmarks for cost, quality and thru put, our ‘Extreme Cleaning’ units bring a new generation of environmentally-friendly processes to the industry replacing the current forms of sand blasting, shot blasting, sanding and grinding with a single immersion process, which results in an inert compact waste for land fills," Shoemaker said. "Our engineers and scientists have continued in the forefront of the materials technology revolution, enabling us to develop and refine the foremost process technology for the global marketplace."

As a measure of the "Extreme Cleaning" advantage, Shoemaker said the system at Anniston is capable of cleaning an entire tank engine in less than an hour compared with today's cleaning process which takes between 12 and 14 hours. In addition, the Kolene process eliminates process residue and will highlight any cracks or defects in an engine or component which can lead to a premature failure. The Kolene applications are virtually unlimited and can be used for cleaning small arms to artillery barrels and from tank engines to precision powertrain parts.

“We will be expanding our successful commercial applications into the military's depot network,” Shoemaker said. "We see 'Extreme Cleaning' as the cornerstone for speeding up the current RESET challenges while making a positive impact in key areas including costs, quality and the environment.”
