AAR Landing Gear Services Selects Component Control For MRO Enterprise Solution Software

SAN DIEGO, Calif., January 9, 2008 --[ASDWire]-- AAR Landing Gear Services, a Malaysian-based joint venture between Illinois-based AAR and AIROD Sdn. Bhd. of Malaysia, recently selected Component Control's Quantum Control aviation enterprise resource planning (ERP) software as its maintenance, repair and overhaul (MRO) system. Quantum Control combines aircraft maintenance, shop floor control, inventory management, accounting, e-commerce, sales and invoicing, and other business functions in one dynamically-updatable software suite.

According to AAR CORP. Vice President and Chief Information Officer Kevin Larson, Quantum Control will replace an in-house parts tracking system at the Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia-based repair station. The Quantum Control software, powered by an Oracle 10G database, will be hosted at AAR’s Chicago data center, with the Malaysian repair station remotely accessing the solution.

“AAR Landing Gear Services keeps a significant inventory on hand and periodically outsources work on some parts,” said Larson. “The Quantum package from Component Control provided us with a solution that we could scale to fit the needs of this particular repair station. By adding the Shop Control, Accounting, Document Imaging, Shipping, Bar-coding and Event Manager modules to the standard business module, we can simplify our inventory and outsourcing procedures and provide better repair services for our customers.”
