New Barco Rugged Display Meets Most Extreme Conditions Aboard Armored Vehicles
Barco’s TX is a fully optioned display series offering the best performance and best value for the harshest environments. Following the introduction of the 17” TX-243, 12” and 15” solutions will soon be available as well. Each product in Barco’s TX display series offers a rugged touch screen, sunlight readability, NVIS compliance, low dimming, and programmable bezel buttons as standard features that are fully integrated into the product design. Barco has designed its TX range as a fully sealed solution with an innovative, patented thermal management system making the displays suitable for use across the widest temperature ranges in the harshest environmental conditions. The TX series will provide cold start performance at -46°C as well as operation at +71°C. The TX series will also maintain its functional and EMI/EMC performance while meeting all common military specifications for severe environments such as humidity, sand, salt, dust, and fog.
Barco's TX display series features a ruggedized analog resistive touch screen technology that provides high touch accuracy while maintaining the environmental integrity of the display. Barco perfected this technology to minimize humidity effects, minimize optical reflection, and provide a scratch-resistant screen surface. The TX display’s touch screen technology operates with finger tips, gloves, or stylus. The TX display series also features a high bright LED backlight technology providing operators with exceptional image performance in high ambient light conditions. The performance of Barco's LED backlight technology has been proven successful in the most extreme armored vehicle conditions.
With the combination of its innovative technologies, standard features, and extreme environmental performance, the TX displays series provides superb value for a wide variety of armored vehicle applications including system control, battlefield management, fire control, driver’s view enhancement, and local situational awareness.
The TX displays have been designed in accordance with MIL-STD-3009 and MIL-L-85762.
