Ultra Electronics TCS MRC-142 Upgrade contract award $8 3M

Ultra Electronics - Tactical Communication Systems has been awarded a contract valued at US $8.3 M for supplying tactical communication upgrade kits, including its high capacity AN/GRC-245A HCLOSTM radios to the U.S. Navy SPAWAR Systems.

Montreal, February 3, 2009 --[ASDWire]-- Ultra Electronics Tactical Communication Systems Division (Ultra TCS) is pleased to announce the award of a contract, valued at over US$8.3M through the Canadian Commercial Corporation, by the US Navy SPAWAR Systems, for supplying the U.S. Marine Corp MRC-142 Program upgrade kits, including our widely deployed AN/GRC-245A HCLOSTM software defined high capacity radios.

The AN/GRC-245A HCLOSTM radio is a state-of-the-art Software Defined Radio (SDR) which uses the Software Communications Architecture (SCA) open framework. The HCLOSTM radio is currently being shipped with a 16Mb/s capacity and is software-upgradeable to 34Mb/s full-duplex capacity. Ultra-TCS has already delivered thousands of HCLOSTM radios to North American and International customers, many of which are operating in the most demanding battlefield conditions.
