QinetiQ North America to Provide US Navy's Seatech With High-Performance Computing Systems Support

WEST BETHESDA, Md., May 12, 2009 --[ASDWire]-- The Naval Surface Warfare Command’s Carderock Division has awarded QinetiQ North America’s Systems Engineering Group a five-year contract to provide high-performance computing systems support to the Ship Engineering and Analysis Technology Center (SEATech) in West Bethesda, Md.

The five-year contract, awarded under the Seaport Enhanced (SeaPort-e) contract vehicle, has a total ceiling value of $4.4 million.

SEATech operates advanced computational, networking, visualization and collaborative facilities for use by a wide range of Navy and Department of Defense organizations. Its computational facilities are designed to handle some of the most difficult naval engineering problems, such as those involving hydrodynamic and hydroacoustic research, design and engineering.

QinetiQ North America will support SEATech in the areas of Program and Financial Management, High-Performance Computing System Administration, Network Engineering, Information Management and Security, and Advanced Visualization and Collaboration Tools.
