Sectra launches the first truly independent TETRA crypto solution
TETRA is a digital radio technology and a common radio system used by organizations in society involved in public safety, security and health. The TETRA network is being built out in most European countries. The crypto solution now being launched by Sectra in the European market was developed in cooperation with Swedish authorities.
“The market for TETRA is growing, and such authorities as the police request encryption for the protection of information that is essential for society. Sectra’s unique crypto promotes safe and efficient cooperation among various emergency services,” says Michael Bertilsson, President of Sectra Communications.
Sectra’s crypto solution is embedded in a smart card that is easily inserted into TETRA terminals. The crypto protects conversations from eavesdropping independent of the terminal supplier. This entails that users can choose a terminal based on their own preferences and maintain shared security.
New TETRA crypto at the TETRA World Congress
Sectra will be an exhibitor at the TETRA World Congress, which will be held on May 26-29 in Munich, Germany.
