AMETEK Aerospace & Defense Standardizes IT Infrastructure for MRO Business with Quantum Control Aviation ERP Software

SAN DIEGO, Calif., April 19, 2010 –-[ASDWire]-- AMETEK Aerospace & Defense, a division of AMETEK, Inc., has selected Component Control’s Quantum Control aviation enterprise resource planning (ERP) software as the ERP platform for its expanding third-party aviation maintenance, repair and overhaul (MRO) business. AMETEK Aerospace turned to Component Control, the aviation industry’s leading ERP aftermarket services MRO software provider, to meet the demands of a highly competitive market and to support its own aggressive growth strategy.

“Early on, we identified the requirement for a single ERP platform to standardize our IT infrastructure,” notes Richard Madamba, Vice President & General Manager, Maintenance, Repair and Overhaul for AMETEK Aerospace & Defense. “By using Quantum Control as our base ERP software, we will promote collaboration among our existing MRO facilities and the new businesses we bring under the AMETEK MRO umbrella.”

Component Control completed the first Quantum rollout on February 1, 2010 at AMETEK’s High Standard Aviation, a Miami-based MRO unit that specializes in electrical/electromechanical, hydraulic and pneumatic repair services for various commercial aircraft. A second Quantum AMETEK MRO implementation has begun at Muirhead Aerospace, a leading MRO services provider based in the United Kingdom. AMETEK expects to roll out Quantum to seven other MRO businesses worldwide over the course of the next 18 months.
