Vigilance launches new Aerial Surveillance and ISR training service

Eindhoven, 11 August 2010 --[ASDWire]-- Vigilance Services has launched a new Aerial Surveillance and ISR training service for NATO military organizations. The Aerial Surveillance and ISR training service will enable military planners to incorporate Airborne Ground Surveillance capabilities into military exercises and training activities whenever and wherever they desire. Vigilance Services uses manned aircraft equipped with the latest sensor and data-link communications technology as airborne ISR platforms and Surrogate UAVs.

By using certified manned aircraft as airborne ISR platforms and Surrogate UAVs, Vigilance Services negates the legal restrictions and airspace constraints imposed on UAV operations in European airspace. This offers military planners a flexible, low cost Airborne Ground Surveillance capability that can be seamlessly integrated into military exercise and training scenarios.

Vigilance Services is flexible in its use of data-link and video transmission frequencies. It can switch between commercial and military frequencies at the customer’s request. This allows for Aerial Surveillance and ISR training in exercise areas where frequency allocation is constrained. The data-link and video transmission systems that are utilized support a wide range of Remote Video Terminals and are fully compatible with the commonly fielded Remote Observer Video Enhanced Receiver (ROVER).
