Fokker Partners With Blue Air (Romania) for Introduction of TCAS 7.1 in Their Boeing 737 Fleet

Fokker Services, part of Fokker Technologies, announces that it has received the order from Romanian operator Blue Air for the introduction of TCAS 7.1 modification on their 11 ea B737 fleet.

The development of version 7.1 of the Traffic Collision Avoidance System (TCAS) was initiated by EUROCONTROL and will bring improvements such as to the reversal logic by detecting situations in which, despite the Resolution Advisories, the aircraft continue to converge vertically.

The mandate is applicable in European Union airspace as of 1 March 2012 to all new aircraft above 5,700 kg Maximum Take-off Mass or authorised to carry more than 19 passengers. A deadline, 1 December 2015, is granted to aircraft with an individual certificate of airworthiness issued before 1 March 2012 and equipped with version 7.0. The EU Implementing Rule sets an earlier equipage requirements than those published in ICAO Annex 10 (1 January 2014 new installations, 1 January 2017 existing units).
